Economy Class

Economy passengers typically get a 23 kg (50 lb) check-in allowance per bag on most major US airlines, plus one carry-on and one personal item free of charge. Basic Economy fares on some airlines may not include a free checked bag or may restrict carry-on size — always check your specific fare rules before packing. Overweight bags (23–32 kg) usually incur a $75–$200 fee; bags over 32 kg are often not accepted at all.

Business & First Class

Business class passengers typically enjoy 32–40 kg check-in allowance and 2 cabin bags up to 18 kg. First class passengers typically receive 40–50 kg check-in and priority handling. Always verify with your specific airline and fare class.

Special Items

• Sports Equipment: Declared separately. Fees apply — usually $15–$50 per piece on domestic routes.
• Musical Instruments: Must be declared. Soft instruments may travel as cabin baggage; larger instruments may require a separate seat purchase.
• Medications: Carry doctor's prescription for liquid medications over 100ml in cabin baggage.
